Hundreds of reopening businesses have received £11.5 million in Government funding to help them bounce back from the lockdown.
A total of 1,769 businesses in Stoke-on-Trent, including pubs, hairdressers and non-essential shops, have been handed the Restart Grants following the easing of coronavirus restrictions.

The former chief executive of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council claimed more in expenses in one year than any other local authority officer in the country.
Simon Baker, who was the shared top officer at Staffs Moorlands and High Peak Borough Council, claimed £38,043 in expenses in 2019/20 – the highest amount in the UK according to a report from the TaxPayers Alliance.
