Subscriber only A court has heard how crashing into a tree was a wake up call for a man to do something about his issues with drugs. Bradley Robert Weekes pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday to a number of offences including driving under the influence of liquor or a drug and driving without due care or attention. The court heard police were called to an incident on October 5 last year where a car had crashed into a tree on Elliott Heads Rd. Witnesses told police the car had been travelling south east before going down a small embankment near an intersection and into the tree.

Subscriber only A court has heard how a man wished he had been arrested earlier in the night before he embarked on drunken crime spree after consuming a staggering amount of alcohol. Jack Ray Evans pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday to three trespassing offences, two counts of stealing and wilful damage. The court heard Evans was found by police on Bourbong St at 2am on September 13 last year where he participated in a street check. At the time police noted his clothing and appearance was distinctive and recognisable. At 3.25am that same morning Evans went into the yard of a Woongarra St home.

A former Captain Creek Rural Fire Brigade member was alleged to be found in possession of an item belonging to the new Eurimbula Rural Fire Brigade.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police allegedly located a trailer belonging to the Eurimbula Rural Fire brigade at a Captain Creek address on October 3, 2020.
John David Massurit, 54, who was a first officer of the Captain Creek rural fire brigade before it was shut down, has been charged with possession of suspected stolen property.
The matter is next before Bundaberg Magistrates Court on February 19.

A court has heard how a young manâs parents kept the wrecked car he crashed in their yard to remind him of the consequences of his drink driving.
Jack David Manzini, 23, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday to one count of driving under the influence of liquor.
The court heard police were called to Qunaba on October 10 last year after a car had rolled into a field, with reports of people trapped in the vehicle.
When they arrived they saw a white car had rolled onto its roof and saw two men walking around the car in a confused state and another man collapsed near the car in a semiconscious state.
