9 & 10 News May 24, 2021 Sutton’s Bay Public Schools hosted an open house for their middle school students to learn about their new curriculum and new learning space. The middle school currently shares the building with the high school, but over the next summer the school will renovate part of the elementary school to allow middle schoolers their own space. Students and parents also met to learn about the new curriculum next year. This includes “exploratory courses,” which are longer classes that students can switch throughout the year based on their interests. “There will be some really cool opportunities for students next year,” said Shelagh Fehrenbach, Elementary and Middle School Principal at Sutton’s Bay Public Schools. “I think one of the most important parts for middle schoolers is a really important element of choice, that they can have some agency over their coursework and the things they’re studying within their courses.”
