Scholars call this phenomenon selective partisan exposure, and it means that people seek information that comports with beliefs they already hold. However, even entertainment programming often presents viewers and listeners with the artists’ opinions about political and social conflicts. I recently did some research to see if young Trump supporters and Biden supporters prefer different entertainment media and think about them differently. Through the online survey tool Qualtrics, I sent a survey to 10,000 students enrolled at Bowling Green State University’s campuses in Bowling Green and Huron. Just under 1,100 students completed the survey, for a response rate of nearly eleven percent.
