Divers with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office have reportedly recovered the remains of the 24-year old pilot who plunged a single-engine Piper aircraft into the Atlantic, about a mile off the coast of the Boynton Beach Inlet Sunday night.

BOYNTON BEACH Divers on Monday discovered the body of a 24-year-old man inside a small plane that crashed near Boynton Inlet late Sunday, the U.S. Coast Guard said. The Palm Beach County Sheriff s Office identified the man as Abhishek Patter. Airport officials in Brevard County said Monday afternoon that he was a student at 2Fly Airborne flight school in Merritt Island. On Sunday evening, a distress call from the single-engine plane came to Palm Beach International Airport air traffic control tower, according to authorities. The U.S. Coast Guard said the four-seat Piper 28 aircraft had one person on board. The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane was headed to the Merritt Island Airport from the Lantana airport.
