The Post Editorial Board endorses incumbent Pam Triolo. After three terms starting in 2011, she has the experience and knowledge that makes her the preferred choice.
CITY COMMISSION
District 1: The Board endorses
Sarah Malega, an entrepreneur and neighborhood activist because there s a need for new blood and fresh thinking.
District 2: For the seat to fill former Commissioner Omari Hardy, the Board endorses the appointee,
Carla Blockson, who brings a fresh approach to the commission.
District 3: The Board endorses challenger
Kimberly Stokes, who would work to bolster COVID-19 relief efforts, oversee road construction projects in underserved neighborhoods, and ensure more consistent and improved efforts from city code enforcement.

To hear Gov. Ron DeSantis tell it, Florida “had the smoothest, most successful election of any state in the country.” Yet, if he has his way, Republicans in the Florida Legislature will pass new laws that will suppress the vote in order to ensure “election integrity” in future contests.
In a playbook Republicans across the country are using after President Joe Biden’s decisive victory in November, DeSantis announced his support for new restrictions on voting by mail and on ballot drop boxes, needed, he claims, to clean up election nightmares that have plagued the state s reputation since the neck-and-neck George Bush vs. Al Gore fight in 2000.
