Mural honoring inaugural poet Amanda Gorman in Palm Springs
If you re looking to get out of the house you might want to check out one of Palm Spring s newest murals.
“Art can be a message and this is a very strong and powerful message,” Russell Pritchard a commissioner at the Palm Springs Public Arts Commission told News Channel 3.
Pritchard came up with the idea for the new Amanda Gorman mural.
“We really wanted to use this image because it is the iconic image of her blasting on the public stage at the inauguration,” he said.
An LA-based artist Mister Alek painted this portrait of Gorman. She’s the poet who read her work at President Biden s inauguration and at the Super Bowl.
