Corona kills seven in KP July 29, 2021 PESHAWAR: The coronavirus has started spreading due to multiple factors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and claimed seven lives and infected 399 people on Wednesday. It is stated to be the highest death toll in the fourth wave. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has lost 4435 people as a result of coronavirus since the outbreak of the infectious disease in 2020. Also, 142799 people had suffered from the Covid-19 in KP and 135687 successfully recovered. According to health experts, they had noted a rise in coronavirus cases in the province after Eidul Adha. There were different variants of the infectious disease in KP and some of the patients were diagnosed with the most deadly virus of delta variant.

The IMB provides an independent assessment of the progress being made by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) in the detection and interruption of polio transmission globally. In its recent report on Pakistan’s Polio Programme, the global body has marked Punjab as a ‘poor performer’ compared to other provinces.

The Rescue 1122 officials in Mardan said four-year-old Adnan and four-month-old Nosheen died and another child suffered injured after the roof of their house collapsed in Bijligar locality of Katlang tehsil.

KP to establish 10 new economic zones July 28, 2021 PESHAWAR: As many as 10 new economic zones and 19 small industrial estates would be established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 10 years, a meeting was told on Tuesday. Chief Minister Mahmood Khan chaired the meeting which was attended by Special Assistant to CM on Industries Abdul Karim, Secretary Industries Humayun Khan, Secretary Energy & Power Zubair Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Chief Executive Officer Board of Investment and Trade, Hassan Daud and other senior officials, said a handout. The meeting was informed that two more special economic zones would be set up in the next five years under the new Industrial Policy 2020. The small industrial estates at Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Dara Adamkhel, Shahkas and Mardan would be declared as special economic zones.
