BBC sets out diversity targets including apprenticeship boost Alex Green, PA Entertainment Reporter 24 February 2021, 3:34 pm The BBC has set out how it plans to meet the diversity and inclusion workforce targets it announced last year. The broadcaster’s 2021-23 plan, which comes after a review, details proposals to increase entry-level opportunities, overhaul recruitment and tackle “non-inclusive behaviours” amongst its staff. It also includes a “significant boost” to the number of apprenticeship spots offered each year. Director-general Tim Davie announced in September during his introductory speech that the broadcaster’s workforce would in the next three to five years become 50% women, at least 20% Bame and at least 12% disabled.

Tobin – who has been at the firm for the past three decades – will replace the outgoing Stephen Goldman at the start of next month when his five-year tenure draws to a close. Tobin has served on the firm’s management committee for the past 12 years and as chair of the firm’s litigation business for a year longer than that, helping develop both the firm’s current strategic plan and its response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
