Despite nearly winning the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament, LSU is an eight-seed in the NCAA Tourney and will play 16-and-4 St. Bonaventure on Saturday. Coach Will Wade says it will be a challenge to beat the Bonnies who won both the Atlantic Ten regular season and conference titles.
“I’ve actually watched St. Bonaventure play a couple of times this year, they got a top 40 offense, a top 20 defense, they are 17th in the country in defensive proficiency, they got some good guard play, they got a great shot-blocker a big six-ten guy down there, a good small-ball four,” said Wade.

Fred Jeter | 12/17/2020, 6 p.m. Virginia Commonwealth University guard NahâShon âBonesâ Hyland, No. 5 jersey, is open to launch another 3-pointer at a recent game.
Players, even coaches, come and go. But one thing seems constant regarding Virginia Commonwealth University hoopsâ the 3-pointer is a Rams center-ring attraction.
Since the 2009-2010 season, VCU has made 2,951 3-pointers compared to 2,183 for the teamâs opponents.
Thatâs a difference of 768 three-balls, accounting for a jaw- dropping 2,304 point advantage. With that a key factor, VCU has ranked among the NCAA Division Iâs most successful programs for a decade.
With the annual 3-point harvest, no wonder VCU was long ago nicknamed â3CU.â This season offers more of the same.
