ROCKFORD Rockford Public Schools is changing how its middle and high school students attend class whether they re learning in-person or remotely on Feb. 1, the start of the spring semester.
The change, the district announced Tuesday, affects all middle school and high school students, nearly half of the district s 28,200 students. We’re making this change after collecting data and feedback from families, students, teachers, principals and staff, Rockford Superintendent Ehren Jarrett wrote in a letter to parents. This new plan follows a shortened schedule and allows students to connect every day with their teachers and classmates, instead of only a few days each week.
