CAN to govt officials, politicians: adhere to guidelines | New Nigerian Politics

Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter Rev. Samson Jonah gave the advice while speaking to reporters during an inspection tour of his church by men of the FCT COVID-19 Enforcement Team. Jonah, who is Senior Pastor, ECWA Good News, Maitama, said: “We talked to ourselves that compliance should be very high during this second wave because of how dangerous and deadly the virus is. “But above all, we are saying that as we continue to comply, let’s also see the government functionaries doing the same thing, because leadership should be by example.

COVID-19 Taskforce hails Abuja churches on compliance with safety protocols

By Stanley Onyekwere Churches in Abuja, the nation’s capital city have been commended for strict adherence to established safety protocols, aimed at containing the spread of the second wave of Coronavirus otherwise known as COVID-19 pandemic. The churches received the commendation from the FCT COVID-19 Enforcement Taskteam, during an unscheduled inspection tour of some churches in Abuja, yesterday. Some of the churches visited and scored very high over compliance with COVID-19 protocol were the Central Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Wuse 2, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, First Baptist Church, Area 11, Garki and ECWA Good News Church, Maitama, all within the Abuja’s City Centre.

I won t owe any Imo worker or pensioner their entitlement, says Uzodimma

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has said that he will not owe any worker or pensioner in the state or local government civil service their salaries, pensions or entitlements during his tenure as governor. He said he has a covenant with God to sincerely serve the people of Imo State and that he will be committed to the promise throughout his tenure. Governor Uzodimma reiterated this during his first Christmas Day Mass at his home Church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Omuma, in Oru East local government area. He recalled the events that brought him into politics, the contest for governorship of Imo State and the reclaiming of his mandate at the Supreme Court, noting that “the people of Omuma have many reasons to be grateful to God for making one of their own governor of the state.”
