The annual Columbia Greek Festival will be replaced by Greek to Go, a drive-thru Greek food event this year. The Greek Festival, usually hosted at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral each fall will look a little different this year, being replaced by a takeout event happening on Saturday, May 22.  The drive-thru event will feature Greek meals and pastries available to purchase from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 1900 Main Street in the parking lot of the cathedral.

Greek Festival in Wormleysburg is underway with baklava, gyros and more Updated May 14, 2021; Facebook Share The festival is selling a pared down menu of favorites such as assorted boxed pastries and frozen “take and bake” pastitsio and mousakka. “We’re hoping the spirit of the Greek Fest lives,” said Dimitro Zozos, one of the organizers. Typically, the festival attracts more than 30,000 visitors for authentic Greek food, dancing and church tours over three days. Organizers decided, as they did last fall, to host a drive-thru due to the coronavirus pandemic. The drive-thru sale includes traditional and chicken gyros, Greek salads, dolmades (grape leaves), Greek style meatballs, Avgolemono (lemon chicken soup), spanakopita, 6-packs of baklava, assorted pastry boxes and rice pudding.
