Man Becomes Violent At Burke Home, Rams Head Through Aquarium, Investigation Underway

An incident during which an individual became violent at a Burke County home is under investigation. According to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Thursday (April 15) at 8:15 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an address on Mineral Springs Mountain Road in Valdese. The deputies were met by two juveniles outside and an adult in the residence who told them that a person known to them was bleeding, fighting with the adult’s son, and destroying their home.

Burke County deputies say they were dispatched to a home on Powerhouse Road in Morganton on April 14th around 11 a.m., where they met a victim who claimed Lytle has been on his property and pointed a gun at him.
At the scene, deputies say they noticed smoke coming from a property nearby and discovered several fires had been set on the vacant property, in the direction the victim claims Lytle was walking.
Authorities say Lytle is known to carry a firearm and is considered dangerous. Lytle is also wanted on two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in unrelated matters.

A Morganton man is being sought in connection to fires that were set Wednesday (April 14) in Burke County. Wednesday at approximately 11:00 a.m. a Burke County deputy was dispatched to an address on Powerhouse Road in Morganton regarding a trespasser. When the deputy arrived at the scene, a victim told the officer that Craig Herman Lytle had been on his property and had pointed a firearm at him.
While on the scene, the deputy noticed smoke coming from an adjacent vacant property. The victim stated that Lytle had left the victim’s residence on foot headed toward the property with the smoke. The deputy found several fires that had been set on the vacant property and no one was there. Lytle, who is 46-years-old and a resident of Lytle Drive in Morganton, is considered a person of interest in setting these fires.

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. Burke County deputies are searching for a suspect they say is not only armed and dangerous but also forced two nearby schools into a soft lockdown on Wednesday.
BCSO said they got a call just after 11 a.m. around Powerhouse Road in Morganton regarding a trespasser. The victim told an officer that the suspect, identified as Craig Herman Lytle, was on the victim s property and aimed a firearm at the victim. The victim also told the responding deputy that Lytle left on foot and headed toward a nearby vacant property, where the deputy saw smoke during the initial interview with the victim. BCSO says the deputy saw several fires that were set on the property, with nobody there.

Burke County Man Receives Minimum 28 Year Sentence In Double Murder Case

37-year-old Brian Jerome Robinson of Connelly Springs will spend 28 to 35 years in prison following his conviction for two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon during Burke County Superior Court Monday (April 12).
Robinson was given the active prison term by the Honorable Casey Viser, Superior Court Judge from Mecklenburg County, after he entered a guilty plea in connection with the September 2016 deaths of 29-year-old Spencer Jermain Murray and 35-year-old Albert Alexander Austin. Robinson is one of four co-defendants in the double murder. Two others – Icey Chenell Gooden and Brandy Nicole Davis – already have entered guilty pleas for their involvement and are serving active prison sentences.
