A man has been charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed to death in Birmingham, police have said. Dea-John Reid, 14, was chased then attacked in the Kingstanding area of the city at around 7.30pm on Monday. He died as a result of his injuries. Michael Shields, 35 from Alvis Walk, in Castle Bromwich, has been charged with murder and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday morning. A 38-year-old man and a 14-year-old.

A police officer is due in court after he was charged with assaulting a man during an arrest.
PC Samuel Huntbach, 28, arrested a man during an incident in May 2020 who sustained a fractured ankle. The force referred the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) which carried out an independent investigation.

A teenager who was stabbed to death after being chased into a shop and knifed in broad daylight has been pictured for the first time.
Derlarno Samuels, 17, was found with knife wounds inside a car after it crashed in Heath Street, Smethwick, at around 4.20pm on Saturday, West Midlands Police said.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital but sadly pronounced dead around an hour later.
A post mortem determined Derlarno s death was caused by a stab wound, police said.
