Man killed in northern Colorado shooting with law enforcement after threatening woman

A 60-year-old man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Fort Lupton on Saturday morning.  Law enforcement officials from multiple agencies were dispatched to a home in the Aristocrat Ranchettes in unincorporated Weld County at 8:43 a.m. after a report of a man with a gun, according to a news release from the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team. A female told dispatch that there was an armed man outside her home who was preventing her from leaving and threatening to kill her. Officials from multiple agencies including responded and located the man outside of the residence. Law enforcement ordered him to drop his weapon immediately, and after several minutes of communicating, a member of the Weld County Sheriff s Office fired at the suspect, the agencies spokesperson told The Denver Gazette.

Juan Panzo Temoxtle, 44, died after a manure vacuum truck he was operating sunk into a manure pit at the Shelton Dairy on March 31. Project to Protect Food System Workers, an advocacy group for Colorado agriculture workers, released details of his death this week.   According to the group’s press release, Temoxtle “was operating the manure vacuum truck when it appeared to have lurched forward and fell into the manure pit, submerging the cab of the truck in the fetid liquid manure….”

Weld County Sheriff s (WCSO) is searching for information about an assault and vehicle theft that took place Thursday night north of Greeley.  WCSO said the victim was assaulted while driving north on U.S. 85, towing a Harley Davidson motorcycle.  A trailing vehicle flashed its lights at the resident, said deputies. He pulled over to see if there was something wrong with the trailer but WCSO said he was assaulted.  The resident woke up to find his vehicle, trailer and motorcycle were all stolen said WCSO.

(AP) - Greeley Police officers responded to a home burglary alarm early Saturday and shot a man who exited the house with a gun, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office. The Greeley Police Department responded about 3:30 a.m. to the alarm on 50th Avenue, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release, 9News reported. When they arrived, the officers heard gunshots coming from inside the house. Minutes later, a man who was holding a gun exited the house, WCSO said.
