UAB releases racial data on vaccines, more shots to minorities than state or national average

Vaccine clinics operated by the University of Alabama at Birmingham delivered more shots to minorities than national and state averages, according to statistics released Wednesday. About 31 percent of the vaccines delivered by UAB went to minorities, including almost 21 percent to Black patients. Almost 27 percent of the population in Alabama is Black. Staff at UAB also delivered about 7 .
