Stark County Prosecutor Stone to Deliver Mount Union Black History Month Keynote Thursday

ALLIANCE, Ohio The University of Mount Union’s annual Black History Month Keynote Address will be delivered by recently-elected Stark County Prosecuting Attorney Kyle Stone on Thursday, February 18 at 7 p.m.
Stone, elected in November, is Stark County’s first-ever Black elected prosecutor. The Canton native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in law and liberal arts from The University of Findlay, a Master of Ministry degree from Temple Baptist Seminary, and a Master of Public Administration degree and Juris Doctorate from The University of Akron.

The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) reelected Ottawa County Commissioner Mark Stahl as its chairman, during the organization’s recent annual business meeting. With Commissioner Stahl in charge, Ottawa County will play an important part in determining regional planning with members in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan working on transportation, water quality, and support regional economic development endeavors that affect quality of life in the region.
TMACOG’s role in transportation is to help plan roadways, rail, bike and pedestrian accommodations, and transit that will move goods and people safely and efficiently throughout the region. The staff at TMACOG compiles information that local elected officials need to set priorities and make plans.

BOTKINS – Dr. Eric May has come home to Shelby County, where he developed an interest in sports performance and physical therapy as an athlete at Anna High School, to establish his practice.
May PT and Performance opened in late October and is seeing business pick up. May’s clients include high school athletes, weekend warriors and people looking to get back to doing their daily activities without pain.
Local students earn scholarships
FINDLAY Students at the University of Findlay were awarded endowed scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Jared Dixon of Galion received a scholarship from the Dr. Mary Jo and Tony Geise Computer Science Scholarship Endowment Fund and Katharine Ballard Reed Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund.
Caitlin Koschnick of Galion received a scholarship from the Ritz Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund.
Allyson Stewart of Bucyrus received a scholarship from the Lorene King Ashby Scholarship Endowment Fund and Betty Caskey Clopper Scholarship Endowment Fund.
