Sallie Swann Nashville-based commercial real estate brokerage, development and design firm Southeast Venture has hired Sallie Swann as a commercial real estate broker. Swann (pictured) will focus on industrial leasing and sales, according to a release. Swann joins Southeast Venture from CBRE’s Nashville office, where she worked for three years as an associate on the company’s advisory and transaction services team, specializing in industrial leasing and property sales. Previously, she spent four years as an attorney, most recently at Parks Acres Inc. and Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin before that, serving clients primarily in the real estate, business and corporate sectors.

Not in the “sneaky” sense of the word (although I was that, too) but literally – I did crafts, prodigiously. My childhood hobbies included bracelet weaving, beading and bug collecting. I collected Klutz books, those chunky girlhood manuals that advised one on skills such as hair braiding and face painting, and I learned the art of making balloon animals, for which I retain the bizarre muscle memory. These DIY proclivities persisted into my teens, when I painted on, ripped up and re-stitched half of my clothes; for a while, I thought I might go to art school. But I didn’t.
