KSP Investigating Rockcastle County Shooting

London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Mar 5, 2021 11:25 AM Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting in Rockcastle County. Investigators say Rockcastle County 911 received a call early Thursday morning of a domestic violence complaint in the Sand Hill area of the county. Troopers say 43-year-old Timothy Clines of Mt. Vernon was in an argument with a woman when he was shot in the torso by 42-year-old Josh Little of Mt. Vernon. Clines was taken to Rockcastle Regional Hospital before being flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. KSP Detective Ryan Loudermilk is continuing the investigation.

Man involved in officer-involved shooting now charged

Feb 26, 2021 LONDON — A London man wanted for pointing a gun at Sheriff s deputies earlier this month is now in custody. Michael V. Collilns, 59, of Betty Lane in London, was taken into custody on Saturday on a warrant for two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. The charges stemmed from a Feb. 6 incident when deputies responded to a complaint of an individual who was refusing to leave private property on Chesnut Way. The suspect was hiding in a wooded area nearby the home of the caller. When deputies arrived at the scene, they located Collins in the woods. He was armed with a pistol and pointed it directly at Deputy Hobie Daugherty. When told to drop the weapon, he refused to comply. At that point, Daugherty fired his weapon, striking Collins in the shoulder and abdomen. The two deputies administered first aid to Collins until EMS and other first responders arrived at the scene. Coroner identifies driver killed in Tuesday crash

By JANIE SLAVEN Commonwealth Journal Feb 25, 2021 Feb 25, 2021 The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man killed Tuesday night in a motor vehicle accident. Coroner Clyde Strunk has identified the man as Esau Diaz, believed to have been 32 years of age and living in the Knoxville area. Diaz, the coroner said, was identified Thursday afternoon by two brothers who had traveled to Pulaski County after being notified of an alert Strunk issued seeking assistance in finding the driver’s next of kin. Part of the problem, Strunk explained, was that Diaz was carrying the identification of his nephew Alejandro — who ironically had been killed in a separate accident some three weeks ago.

(LEX 18) — A Lexington man who was shot last month near Meadowbrook Park has died from his injuries, the Fayette County coroner said Thursday. Police responded at about 10:24 p.m. on Jan. 25 to the 300-block of Harvard Drive to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Kobe Persley with multiple gunshot wounds. Persley was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he died at 5:24 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Lexington police by calling 859-258-3600.

East Ky 80 crash leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

This article has been updated to reflect patient conditions. A head-on collision that occurred Tuesday night just east of Somerset has left one person dead and two others seriously injured. The crash occurred at approximately 7:48 p.m. on East Ky. 80 in the westbound lanes between Barnesburg Road and Ky. 461.  According to Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck, deputies arriving on scene determined that a 2009 Jeep was eastbound in the westbound lane of Ky. 80 when it struck a westbound 2016 Dodge Ram pickup head on. The driver of the Jeep SUV was identified only as a Hispanic male. Pronounced dead at the scene, according to Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk, the driver s next of kin had not been notified by press time Wednesday evening.
