Martin Co Man Facing Federal Charges following 2020 Brutal Attack

According to earlier reports, 51 year-old Mardy Mollett Jr., of Tomahawk, Ky., was arrested on April 24, 2020, he was accused of breaking into a woman’s home on Rockcastle Road in the Tomahawk community of Martin Co on March 13, 2020 and allegedly began striking the woman on the head and her face with a gun. The woman fell to the ground, but reportedly continued to beat her, and strangling her. Mollett was also accused of shooting up the woman’s home and shooting the woman’s dog, as well as reportedly holding two people at gunpoint and allegedly threatened to kill them, before he left.

Carter Co Teacher Arrested for Murder for Hire Plot against His Mother

/ WSIP AM 1490 | CBS Sports Jan 28, 2021 9:33 PM According to Kentucky State Police in Ashland, on January 15 an individual notified troopers that Billy Reynolds, 41, had spoken to them about a murder for hire plot against his mother. After an investigation, detectives with the Kentucky State Police and FBI were able to implicate and arrest Billy Reynolds, 41. Reynolds is facing a Class B felony charge of solicitation of murder and is currently in the Carter Co Detention Center. The Superintendent of Carter Co Schools confirms that Billy Reynolds, 41, was a teacher and bus driver for the district. Reynolds has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

Andy Beshear announced the state, in partnership with Kroger Health, will open its first regional vaccination site at the Kentucky Horse Park in Fayette County next week. Three additional regional sites are opening through partners Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville and Western Baptist and Lourdes Mercy both in Paducah. The Governor also unveiled a new state website, vaccine.ky.gov, and hotline that help Kentuckians determine if they are eligible to receive a vaccine and then helps them find one in their region. Gov. Beshear stressed that Kentucky, like other states, receives its vaccine doses from the federal government and due to limited supplies it will take time before everyone can be vaccinated. But, he said, everyone will get a turn.
