Editorial: The only fraud is John Eastman

At a pro-Donald Trump “Save America” rally in Washington, D.C. Jan. 6, attorney Rudy Guiliani railed against supposed voter fraud contributing to President Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 presidential election.
“So,” Guiliani declared, slapping his hand onto the podium. “Let’s have trial by combat.”
The rally has been tied to the insurrection on the United States Capitol that took place on the same day. Directly following Guiliani’s speech at the rally, John Eastman, a now-retired law professor at Chapman University and a visiting professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, spoke to the attendees.
I’ve been blessed to live the American dream.
For over a decade, I put my heart and soul into caring for lots of furry friends, and helping amazing people open businesses doing something they loved. Camp Bow Wow grew to be the country’s largest pet care franchise.
I sold it a few years ago, but since then I’ve been on a mission to keep the American dream alive for the next generation so they can have the same opportunity that I did: to work hard, to take risks, to do what they love and unleash their own American dream.
Miracles happen, right here in Colorado. I should know.
Several months ago, amidst COVID quarantining, regent zoom calls, and running my recently launched start up, I got a nagging headache behind my ear. The dentist was convinced it would be solved with a root canal (wait, wasnât all of 2020 a root canal?), and the chiropractor felt it would fade with an adjustment. My family thought it was just plain olâ stress.
All good possibilities, but I had a feeling something wasnât right. Something bigger. Fortunately, I was blessed with a doctor who trusted me, believing this needed a deeper look.
