Singing workshop featuring Les Miserables performer to be held in Burnham
A singing workshop featuring a Les Miserables performer is set to be held in Burnham-On-Sea this summer.
Adam Bayjou, who has played the role of Jean Valjean in London’s West End, will lead the workshop on Sunday 25th July.
Adam will be teaching the iconic ‘One Day More’ from the show, and he will also be treating attendees to a personal performance of ‘Bring Him Home’ from the show as well as a Q&A session on his career and time during the hit stage show.
Workshop organiser Siobhan Johnson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am very passionate about bringing the West End to Somerset to offer once-in-a-lifetime opportunities of singing with some of the top performers.”

Global research looking to reduce deaths on road
This week is UN Global Road Safety week and for the past four years the University of Southampton has led an international research team to explore why so many people continue to die on the roads around the world.
Road traffic collisions kill around 1.35 million people every year, 93% of these occur in low- and middle-income countries, despite those settings having lower rate of vehicle use – 60% of the world’s vehicles compared to 81% of the world’s population. Despite this, the majority of road safety research is undertaken in high-income countries.
The UK’s first Covid-19 vaccine study for pregnant women is set to launch.
Around 235 women will be given the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine or a placebo in the study, which is taking place at 11 hospital sites in Newcastle, Leeds, London, Oxford, Gillingham, Edinburgh and Southampton.
More than 100,000 pregnant women have already been vaccinated in the US, mainly with mRNA vaccines including Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, with no safety concerns.
For this reason, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) in the UK has said it is preferable for pregnant women in the UK to be offered the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines.

London, May 17 : UK researchers analysing the effects of SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing the Covid-19 pandemic, on the human body has provided novel insights into the nature of resilience and how we deal with stressful situations.
The research team involving physicians, chemical biologists and an authority on human nutrition, looked at Covid from a higher level than just a disease affecting the lungs and considered how the whole body deals with the various stresses the virus causes when viewed through the lens of electron exchange also known as redox processes.
