The liquor, branded as Atomik, is part of a four-year experiment by the scientists to see if they could produce a product safe to consume from crops grown in an area that was contaminated during the 1986 nuclear disaster at the plant.

After the opening 0f Below Deck by SUSU for outdoor drinking, SUSU has now announced the reopening of The Stag’s, including the famous Stag’s Karaoke.  The Stag’s is the Student Union’s pub at the University of Southampton. It is based in Building 40 on Redbrick at Highfield Campus. Serving up their £10 pitchers of beer or cocktails, there is something for everyone amongst a vast choice of drinks. There’s also a variety of food items available too. All of these items can be ordered on the Round App, which is currently being used at Below Deck – the Union’s outdoor drinking space. Below Deck will also be staying open as a quieter drinking area for students with the current hours remaining in place.

Royal Mail drone flight trial in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

By Tom Harris News and sports reporter Derek Thomas MP with Stuart Sugden (Royal Mail Operations Manager – Cornwall) Picture: Royal Mail Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has been chosen to trial a groundbreaking project by the Royal Mail using drones to deliver mail.  Derek Thomas, MP for St Ives and West Cornwall, has visited St Mary’s Airport to observe Royal Mail’s trial of the first out-of-sight, autonomous scheduled drone flight between the UK mainland and the Scilly Islands. Royal Mail has also become the first to execute inter-island parcel deliveries across the Scillies, as part of the trial.
