School children taking part in LifeLab (pre-pandemic).
A study by the University of Southampton has shown its LifeLab programme, aimed at improving adolescent health through hands-on learning, significantly increases young people’s understanding of what it means to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Led by a team from both the Faculty of Medicine and Education School at the University of Southampton, the LifeLab programme aims to encourage engagement with the science behind public health messages, to support development of health literacy alongside decision-making skills and promotion of adolescents’ sense of control over their lives and futures. Based at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) NHS Foundation Trust, LifeLab is a state-of-the-art teaching laboratory dedicated to improving adolescent health through science engagement.

We’ve heard delivery services talk about using drones to deliver parcels in the future. The first delivery of parcels has been completed via Royal Mail in the UK using an autonomous drone. The two packages were delivered to the Scilly Isles.
Royal Mail says the delivery means it is the first UK parcel carrier to deliver mail to a UK island via a 70-mile out-of-sight autonomous flight. The items delivered via the flight included COVID testing kits, personal protective equipment, and other mail. The project was government-funded and developed in partnership with DronePrep, Skyports, Consortiq Limited, University of Southampton, Excalibur Healthcare Services, and Windracers Limited.

LONDON England, Scotland and Northern Ireland on Monday recorded no new COVID-19 deaths – a milestone that health experts said represents an encouraging sign, but caution could be temporary.
Meanwhile, Wales recorded just four coronavirus-related deaths. Even so, it s a sharp contrast to a January peak across the U.K., when about 1,800 deaths were recorded in a single day.
Although it is likely that because of reporting delays, more deaths will be reported in the coming days, the number of confirmed infections in the U.K. is also down, suggesting the trend is heading in the right direction.
