Business School continues to benchmark among world’s best The University of Sydney Business School has consolidated its position among the world’s leading providers of business education with EQUIS re-accreditation for five years.
The highly respected Brussels-based accreditation body, European Foundation for Management Development Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), benchmarks management education providers by assessing institutions as a whole. This includes assessment of all programs and awards from bachelor’s degrees through to postdoctoral studies.
The University of Sydney Business School was first awarded accreditation in 2004 and has continued to hold EQUIS accreditation ever since.

Move against BRI seen as an example of politics undermining cooperation
Australia s decision to cancel the two cooperation deals between the state of Victoria and China under the Belt and Road Initiative undermines its own federal system and goes against globalization, industry experts say.
Wang Yiwei, director of the Institute of International Affairs at Renmin University of China, described the move by the Australian government on Wednesday as an egregious incident where economic cooperation is undermined by politics .

The University of Sydney has awarded an honorary doctorate to David Anstice AO in recognition of his outstanding contribution to business, education and the wider community.
With more than 45 years’ experience in the global pharmaceutical industry, Mr Anstice has been instrumental in improving relations between Australia and the United States.
Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sydney Professor Stephen Garton conferred the Doctor of Business (honoris causa) on Mr Anstice at a ceremony in the Great Hall last week.
Honorary degrees are awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the wider community or who have achieved exceptional academic or creative excellence.

Australia said on Thursday (April 22) that it cancelled two accords between Victoria state and China on the Belt and Road Initiative because they were out of line with the federal government’s foreign policy, which sees a “free and open Indo Pacific” as a key goal.
A Chinese foreign ministry spokesman responded by urging Australia to abandon its Cold War mentality and ideological bias and immediately correct its mistakes and change course .

SYDNEY Australia said a decision to cancel two accords between Victoria state and China on the Belt and Road Initiative was taken to ensure consistency in foreign relations and was not aimed at any country.
The Chinese embassy earlier criticized the move by Foreign Minister Marise Payne to veto two agreements signed by Victoria state as “provocative” and said it would further damage ties with Australia.

Payne said on Thursday that Australia was a federation and states entering into agreements with foreign governments are now required to consult with the federal government.
