Chamberland named to president’s list  Hannah Chamberland of Sneads Ferry was recently named to the president’s list at Southeast Missouri State University for academic achievement during the fall 2020 semester.  Coastal Carolina University graduate   Shelby Warrelmann of Jacksonville recently graduated from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, with a degree in Marine Science during December 2020 commencements.   VFW Post 9983 Detention Officer of the Year  Samantha Green of Jacksonville has been recently named the VFW Post 9983 Detention Officer of the Year. She is a four year veteran with the Onslow County Sheriff s Office was selected for her superb leadership and get the mission accomplished attitude. Currently a Deck Supervisor, Greene supervises six Block Officers and over 200 inmates.

Master Gardener The Christian County Master Gardener Association announces Allie Maternowski is the recipient of its Gift for Horticultural Education. Allie is a junior studying agriculture science and horticulture at Murray State University. She is an excellent student and is already involved in horticulture research at the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton as a student employee. This $1,000 gift is awarded annually to third- or fourth-year college students pursuing a degree in horticulture or a related field. The purpose of the gift is to help with student’s expenses in their final years of pursuing a degree. Funding comes from Master Gardener community projects, including the Garden and Outdoor Living EXPO. For more information, contact the Christian County Extension Office at 270-886-6328.

Former Athlete At University Of The Cumberlands To Compete On American Ninja Warrior

London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Mar 5, 2021 11:08 AM Brendan Kelly, a former All-American in both Football and Track and Field will compete in season 13 of American Ninja Warrior (ANW). ANW tests endurance, body control, agility and strength. This is Kelly’s fifth season on American Ninja Warrior. During one of his previous seasons, Kelly made it to the ANW finals in Las Vegas. Kelley opened Ultimate Ninja Athletics in Lexington. The gym contains replicas of ANW obstacles such as the salmon ladder, warped wall, cliffhanger, and many balance obstacles. During one of the season’s Kelly competed in ANW he was a student at University of the Cumberlands. Kelley says he works out in a ninja gym now, which is unlike the past 4 seasons. Kelly believes working out in the Ninja Gym will be beneficial for the next time he competes. In this upcoming season, all competitors will compete in a six obstacle qualifying course in Tacoma Washington, then if they advance pas
