The University of the Philippines (UP) has launched an online portal for first-year admission.
In a Facebook post Friday, the UP said interested applicants are encouraged to visit https://upcollegeadmissions.up.edu.ph/ for preparatory information and instructions as well as the latest announcements.

After applicants have read the pertinent information, they will be directed to the online application portal https://upadmissionsonline.up.edu.ph/, the university added.
The State university underscored that it will implement a “No Walk-in Policy” in compliance with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) community quarantine guidelines.

The inclusion of Reynel Hugnatan to the list of nominees for the PBA Most Improved Player award was seen as a surprise for many that the honor is usually given to younger players.
But that doesn’t mean that the Meralco veteran has a legitimate shot at winning the honor against Phoenix Super LPG’s Justin Chua and Jason Perkins, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s Prince Caperal, Rain or Shine’s Javee Mocon and NLEX’s Raul Soyud.

University of the Philippines Diliman scientist Dr. Perry S. Ong has been honored with the name of a new flowering plant species found in Mindanao.
The findings of the researchers have been officially published in the Phytotaxa journal on January 5, 2021, which called the discovery “the fifth Hypericum species occurring natively in the Philippines, and the second endemic.” The discovery is significant because it is the first Hypericum species in the country found outside Luzon.

UP said that first-year college applicants for the academic year 2021-2022 can now access the UP information website and the online portal for admission applications when it was not able to go through on January 7.
Before accessing the admissions portal, applicants are enjoined to visit upcollegeadmissions.up.edu.ph for preparatory information, instructions and the latest announcements.
“Applicants shall accomplish Form 1 (Personal Data Sheet) electronically and upload their photo and electronic signature. The names of the applicants will be sent to their high schools for batch processing of grade submission starting January 18, 2021,” UP said on its website.
