Tiara Pennington, the current Miss Alabama, is nearing the end of her reign. Pennington won the title in 2019 and kept her crown for an extra year, as the state pageant was canceled in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. The Miss Alabama competition is back, however, and a new winner will be crowned on June 12 at the Alabama Theatre in Birmingham. Thirty nine women are hoping to become the new Miss Alabama, ranging from Miss Appalachian Valley to Miss Wallace State. Here’s a look at this year’s contestants.
