WORTHINGTON For two people who bonded over a mutual love of travel adventures and family get-togethers, the pandemic proved particularly painful especially since their wedding was scheduled for the heart of the shutdown.
“Family is very important to us,” said Alex (Wetering) Kucera, a 2007 Worthington High School alumna.

UNMC infectious disease experts say the pill could be a better way to treat people who are sick with COVID but not hospitalized.
The University of Nebraska Medical Center is testing a new antiviral drug that could be used to combat COVID-19 and would be taken in pill form.
UNMC, a part of a global research trial, will test Molnupiravir to determine the drug s effectiveness in reducing COVID symptoms, recovery time, hospitalizations and death.
Dr. Diana Florescu, a UNMC internal medicine professor and who is helping run the research trial in Omaha, said the pill could be big win for treating COVID because it could possibly be a better way to treat people who are sick with COVID but not hospitalized. Currently, drugs like Remdesivir are used to treat the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, but can only be delivered through an IV, making it impractical to treat a patient at home.
