Nautical Historian Phil Vitiello will recount the history of the RMS Titanic and its sister ships, the Britannic and Olympic, built for the White Star Lines at the April 16 meeting of the members New Canaan Men’s Club. This week marks the anniversary of the Titanic’s sinking after striking an iceberg 109 years ago.
A 25-year member of the Titanic Historical Society, Vitiello’s remarks will discuss the Titanic, and its sister ships, the older Olympic and the younger Britannica, noting that each of the vessels, when launched, were said to be the largest ship in the world.
