A virtual launch for “UNM 2040: Opportunity Defined” is set for Friday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This will be a chance for up to 500 faculty, staff and students to work together in breakout sessions and respond to key questions about future.

Bill Ferrara is looking forward to a true homecoming but says he’ll miss the home-court advantage he enjoyed for the last four years.
Ferrara is leaving his post as University of New Mexico women’s basketball assistant coach to become associate head coach at St. John’s University. Ferrara and St. John’s announced the move Monday via social media.
It’s a step up the professional ladder for Ferrara, who has long sought to become a head coach. He said adding the “associate head coach” title was a significant factor in his decision.

“I’ve turned down a lot of Power 5 assistant jobs over the last four years,” Ferrara said. “Working here with (head coach Mike Bradbury) has been everything I could’ve asked for and more. But having that title is important to my career and New York is home.”

Report for America today announced the placements of some 300 journalists for its 2021 reporting corps. The University of New Mexico ranked amongst the top 1.6 percent of the top universities worldwide according to the 2021-22 edition of the “Global 2000 List by the Center for World University Rankings released April 26.
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) publishes the largest academic rankings of global universities. A total of 19,788 universities were ranked this year according to their academic performance.
