As of May 3, about 44% of people in the U.S. have gotten their first COVID-19 vaccination shots. A lot of these injections are administered in typical locations like hospitals, pharmacies and doctor’s offices. But sometimes, vaccination is happening in more interesting places: repurposed movie theaters, empty sports stadiums and abandoned malls or stores.
Below are some of the more unusual locations people have gotten their COVID-19 vaccines.

The University of Florida’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium will go from a place where Gators quarterbacks take shots into the endzone to a place where seniors will get COVID-19 shots on Friday.
The Florida Department of Health in Alachua County, with the help of UF Health, will launch the county’s largest coronavirus vaccination effort yet at the stadium’s Touchdown Terrace, located in the north end zone, on Friday morning.
Over 10,500 new COVID-19 cases, 140 more deaths reported in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Florida Department of Health reported 10,533 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.
That brings the statewide case total since the start of the pandemic to 1,737,640.
They also reported 140 more deaths, raising the death toll to 27,269.

As of February 2nd, the Florida Department of Health said that 2,119,968 doses have been administered in the state, with 1,747,761 total people vaccinated.
