Facebook has paid for a paper researching Apple s iOS 14 privacy and tracking transparency measures.
The paper says that Apple s changes are anti-competitive and designed only to benefit Apple.
It also says the new moves harm everyone else, but users are voting in droves to opt-out of tracking.
Facebook has funded a paper on Apple s new iOS 14 App Tracking Transparency changes which states they are designed to only benefit Apple.
The paper s abstract states:
Apple s iOS 14 update represents an anti-competitive strategy disguised as a privacy-protecting measure. Apple now prohibits non-Apple apps from using information essential to providing relevant, personalized advertising, without explicit user opt-in. We have some unfortunate news today to report out of Florida, where a Biglaw partner was found dead in the water near his beachfront home this past weekend.
Douglas A. Wright, 60, the operations and finance partner of Holland & Knight’s office in Tampa, Florida, was found floating in the water just off Clearwater Beach on Sunday. While the medical examiner’s office has not yet determined the cause of his death, the firm said it is believed he died of a suspected cardiac event while swimming. Holland & Knight operations and finance partner Douglas Wright died late Sunday of a suspected cardiac arrest while swimming, the law firm s managing partner said in a statement on Monday. He was 60 years old.
Wright was identified earlier Monday after he was found floating in the water off of Clearwater, Florida, near Tampa. A representative for the Clearwater police said a report on the death wasn t yet available but foul play was not suspected.
He spent his entire legal career at Miami-based Holland & Knight, having joined the firm in 1987. His practice included corporate and tax planning and business and tax litigation.
