Why Edo has more deaths from COVID-19 than Abuja – Official Lagos is the only state in Nigeria with a higher number of COVID-19 deaths than Edo. ADVERTISEMENT Edo State has recorded more deaths from COVID-19 than Abuja, although the Federal Capital Territory has over 13,000 infections more than the South-south state. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Edo is 3,862 and the number of deaths 144 as of February 3, according to data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. Abuja has 17, 243 cases and 127 deaths. Other COVID-19 statistics between the two states are as follows: number of persons currently on admission in Abuja is 6,115, while Edo is 632 and the number of people discharged after treatment in Abuja is 11,001, while that of Edo is 3,086.

Man Discovered Knife In His Body Weeks Later After Being Stabbed[Photos]

A man says he is now born again after he discovered a knife was forgotten in his body and remained there for weeks. The Twitter user said he was stabbed last November and went to the hospital where the doctor told him the wound wasn’t that deep and he was stitched. For weeks after that, he said his health declined and he kept falling sick. He later visited his family doctor who asked him to go for an X-ray and when he did, it was discovered that he has a knife lodged in his chest. He was transferred to University of Benin Teaching Hospital where surgery was performed to remove the knife.

Buildings, vehicles, motorcycles and other valuable items in the area were destroyed by the fire. The explosion which started around 5pm was said to have lasted for three hours before the arrival of men of the state fire service. COVID-19 2nd wave: Edo records 43 new cases, one more death as active cases rise to 571

BENIN CITY – Edo State has recorded 43 new confirmed cases and one more death from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) with new 20 recoveries as the state government steps up measures to curb the spread of the second wave of the pandemic. The State COVID-19 Incident Manager, Dr. Andrew Obi, disclosed this during a meeting of the Edo State COVID-19 Taskforce chaired by Governor Godwin Obaseki. He noted that while the death was recorded at the Stella Obasanjo hospital, the 43 new cases were reported from the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) laboratory. The Incident Manager further urged all residents to adhere to the precautionary health and safety protocols to guard against the spread of the virus, noting that the various isolation and treatment centres in the state are actively attending to confirmed cases of the virus.
