Man injured after exploding butane tanks lead to fire at Oakland County home

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – Police are looking into what led to a fire at an Oakland County home that left one person hospitalized with extensive burns.
Deputies with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and Commerce Township firefighters responded shortly after noon Saturday, Dec. 19 for a residential structure fire on Bass Lake Road in Commerce Township.
Multiple 911 callers reported several explosions had occurred and a garage caught fire in the neighborhood, per a statement from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
One of the three residents in the home at the time of the fire, a 25-year-old man, suffered burns to his face and arms.
