The world is learning a lot about Georgia and how it feels about Jews.
On the one hand, a Jewish Democrat named Jon Ossoff – along with a progressive Black minister – were elected as the state’s senators, tipping the national legislative balance to the Democrats.
One the other, newly-elected Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican representing a district in the state’s northwest, was stripped of her committee assignments for promoting kooky QAnon conspiracy theories, including a belief in Jewish-run space lasers.
Is Georgia a forward-thinking haven, or the deep racist and antisemitic south? The answer is both, and confronting that reality is a priority in these polarizing times.

Granting our local Bulloch County Black history contributors much deserved recognition is a small step to showing gratitude for all they do within our community.
Contributors like Vicki Lewis should not be overlooked as she has made a positive impact on so many Bulloch County students. Her story reflects a strong individual who believes in family and responsibility to community. She has served as a teacher at Portal Middle High for 10 years and in education for 17 years. Lewis’s start within education was different than what she expected.

.-P·P·O·W is presenting all that I have, Gerald Lovells first solo exhibition in New York City. Garnering immediate recognition for his candid approach and heavily impastoed canvases, Lovell began painting at the age of 22 after dropping out of the graphic design program at the University of West Georgia. Frustrated by the codified, academic methods ingrained in formal arts education, Lovell utilized YouTube tutorials, his background in photography, and his tightknit, Atlanta-based community of creatives to drive his burgeoning painting practice. An avid photographer, Lovells interest in vernacular photography stems from a childhood in Chicago spent looking through his grandmothers photo albums. Lovell explains My grandmother has these huge photo albums. They re so big and detailed. She is the sole keeper
