More and more, sending your kids off to college is like paying big bucks to take them to an outrageously overpriced restaurant despite knowing that youâre going to get food poisoning, and despite knowing that the waitstaff are going to try to make your kids hate you.

What does your business do?
Our company Castnow ecommerce platform is a UK-based SaaS (Software as a Service) platform that offers merchants e-stores to sell online. This proved to be really helpful for retailers who closed their doors during the lockdown and wanted to have online sales to stay afloat.
Joanne Dickson (Associate Professor of Psychology) joined the Psychology Department in the School of Arts and Humanities at Edith Cowan University (ECU) in 2016. Joanne was awarded two scholarships from the University of London (Royal Holloway) to undertake her PhD. She completed her PhD in 2003. In the UK she held academic posts at the University of London (Birkbeck College) and the University of Liverpool before returning to Perth in 2016.
Joanne’s main research interests are in the areas of goal-motivation, prospective cognition and emotion-regulation processes in mental health and well-being. She collaborates with national and international colleagues in Australia, the UK and USA in this field of research and is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology of Psychological Sciences at the University of Liverpool (UK).
