Six St. Landry Parish students graduated Friday with associate s degrees a week before they receive their high school diplomas.
Through the LSUE Academy, an early college dual enrollment program at Louisiana State University Eunice, students from three St. Landry high schools will start their next semester several steps ahead of their peers.
Nicholas Vallair, 17, will start at Southern University in Baton Rouge in the fall, after he graduates from Northwest High next week, of course. He walked across the LSUE stage Friday to receive his Associate of General Studies. I took all my prerequisite classes, so I ll be almost a junior when I get there (Southern), Vallair said. I can focus strictly on my major.
The three Lafayette police officers who shot and killed Pellerin are unknown.
