Opportunities for hope after conviction in George Floyd s death

We have seen the effects in Jacksonville. Confederate statues have been removed and parks renamed. The School Board is considering renaming six schools named for Confederate leaders. The Interfaith Coalition for Action, Reconciliation and Empowerment (ICARE) is calling for a major change in the way police handle nonviolent crimes, replacing arrests with civil citations. The U.S. has a strong partnership with Ethiopia that will be at risk if the Tigray conflict continues to spread to other regions, unwinding the intricate weave of ethnic balances in the country. If we fail to act to end this dangerous conflict, not only will innocent men, women, and children suffer, so will U.S. the critical regional goals of fighting terrorists, promoting economic growth, and regional peacekeeping.
