A DOCTORS surgery is in the running for a Worcestershire Health and Social Care Award. Pershore Medical Practice has been highlighted by readers as deserving recognition in the inaugural awards run by the Worcester News and sister titles. Reader Michael Ruff was one of those that nominated the surgery, based in Queen Elizabeth Drive, for GP Practice of the Year, writing that staff were “always helpful, polite and caring, and professional. “I m always able to get an appointment or call back from GP or a nurse. After being told of the nomination, Jackie Evans, practice manager, said she and staff were thrilled by the news.

With symptoms of streaming eyes, constant sneezing, and a tickly nose, spring can be an unpleasant time for hay fever sufferers. And with the UK currently experiencing an unprecedented spell of balmy, spring-like weather, experts believe the season could arrive even earlier for the one in five Britons who have the condition.
Indeed, this is the case for Amita, 30. She says that while the usual symptoms of sneezing, eye-watering and nose streaming don t usually start for her until mid-Spring, this year they have come around earlier.

BRITS hit parks and beaches today as temperatures soared to 16C across the UK in the first taste of spring freedom after winter lockdown misery.
And the winter snow, ice, and frost may be behind us, with the warm weather set to stay all week across parts of southern England because of a Sahara dust plume.
