Here’s a look at false and misleading claims circulating as the United States rolled out the newly authorized Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to some health care workers and others. None of these are legit, even though they were shared widely on social media. The Associated Press checked them out. Here are the facts:

All long-term care workers in Ottawa could be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of January, Ottawa Hospital president and CEO Cameron Love said Friday.
Love made the comment at the end of what he called an historic week at the hospital.

The first COVID-19 vaccination in the city was administered to personal-support worker Jo-Anne Miner at the hospital’s Civic campus Tuesday morning and was followed by a round of applause. By Friday, 1,500 workers from 10 selected long-term care homes across the city had been vaccinated.
