Polygamy affecting standard of education - Zamfara monarch

The chairman, Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmed has said that polygamous marriage was responsible for the falling standard of education in the country. Attahiru who is the Emir of Anka disclosed this during a meeting with seventeen emirs of the state and the chairman, Zamfara State Universal Education Board, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Maradun in Gusau, the state capital. The monarch cautioned Muslim Ummah to ensure that they give their children quality and quantitative education in western and Islamic education. He also reiterated the traditional rulers’ support to Universal Basic Education Board in Zamfara State towards providing quality education to the people.
