Cannabis working for Frater

A personal health crisis is what Olympian Michael Frater said got him interested in the medicinal benefits of cannabis and eventually led to the opening of the 4/20 Therapeutic Bliss dispensary in Manor Park, Kingston on Saturday.
Frater, 38, represented Jamaica at the senior level for more than a decade, winning gold medals as a member of Jamaica’s world-record-setting 4x100m relay teams at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea in 2011 and again at the London Olympics in 2012.
He also won a silver medal in the 100m at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, Finland. He was also a 100m champion at the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic.
One of the five women who has been charged in relation to the beating of 17-year-old Kaylan Dowdie along Barbican Road in St Andrew last November, has been granted bail.

Venisha Buckley, the mother of battered teen, Kaylan Dowdie, says she has been told that individuals are making plans to harm her.
She said she has made a report to the police, who have been investigating the allegations.
She is applauding the efforts of the police in relation to the matter.
“Whether it was serious, you don’t make threats at a time like this when I am going through a situation like this. You don’t make threats, whether it is serious or in a joke or it doesn’t matter, I am not going to take it lightly,” said Buckley.
