Couple hurt in blaze in the Adirondacks pronounced dead at Syracuse hospital

Pierrepont, N.Y. A couple carried out of a burning home Sunday in the Adirondacks have died at a Syracuse hospital.
A fire trapped Ricky A. Gollinger and Lena A. Gollinger inside a house around 10:30 p.m. yesterday in St. Lawrence County, said the New York State Police. After they were rescued from the blaze, the critically injured Gollingers were rushed to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
The two were pronounced dead at the hospital, troopers said. Ricky Gollinger was 64. Lena Gollinger was 62.
Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire. Troopers said there were no immediate signs of foul play.

Town of Onondaga, N.Y. The driver of a pickup truck suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday night after he crashed into a tree on Split Rock Road, officials said.
The man, whose name has not been released, was driving east on Split Rock Road when he crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a large tree on the north side of the road, Onondaga County sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jon Seeber said.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The man law enforcement officers dragged out of a smoke-filled motel room early Monday morning is in critical but stable condition at a Syracuse hospital.
Jefferson County sheriff deputies say 55-year-old Robert Murphy was first taken to Samaritan Medical Center after his rescue from room 112 of the Relax Inn in Watertown.
He was later airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
