And with that, the coronavirus vaccine had officially come to South Jersey. Oliver, an associate clinical director at Cooper University Hospital, was the first person in the area to officially receive a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. “I’m very excited about having the vaccination done,” Oliver said. “I can hopefully get to see my family who lives out of town.” Cooper administered the first vaccinations of the Pfizer vaccine Tuesday morning to 30 hospital employees. The vaccine was last week the first to receive emergency use approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
