Regional Hospital Mullingar remains very busy this evening
The management of the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar is warning the public that they are experiencing delays as a number of people are presenting with non-Covid 19 illnesses..
The hospital is asking the public to consider their care options as the hospital and its emergency department remains very busy.
They are advising that visitors should only attend the hospital ED if absolutely necessary and to not bring children, but they are assuring people that anyone seriously injured or ill will be assessed and treated as a priority.

According to the INMO s trolleywatch earlier today, 21 people were waiting for a hospital bed at Mullingar this morning - 24 at University Hospital Galway, 16 in Sligo Hospital, 10 in Tullamore hospital, and six at our lady of Lourdes in Drogheda.

A MAN HAS died after his car collided with a wall in Connemara, Co Galway.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of the incident which occurred in Carna village at 7am this morning.
The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway. The coroner was notified and a post-mortem will take place in due course.
The scene is preserved for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road through Carna village is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. Any road users who were travelling through Carna between 6.30am and 7.30am this morning and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
