LAHORE: The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) provincial offices are all set to start a forensic audit of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) headquarters in Lahore from May 3.
“The forensic audit is being launched in light of the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The first audit was launched last year on the orders of the federal government,” said an ETPB official while talking to Dawn on Thursday.
The Auditor General’s (Functions, Powers and Terms and Conditions of Service) Ordinance, 2001 read with articles 169 to 171 of the Constitution of Pakistan provides for the auditor general of Pakistan with the mandate to audit the accounts of the federal government and any authority or body established by or under control of the federal government.

LAHORE: Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) on Thursday approved awarding development works contract of Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhurapura with a downwards revised cost of Rs8.49 billion.
The decisions were made in the 148th meeting of the PIEDMC board of directors, chaired by Syed Nabil Hashmi. The board approved the minutes of the 147th board meeting and reviewed implementation of previous decisions.
PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabil Hashmi directed the concerned officers to expedite the development work related to the managed industrial estates especially Quaid-e-Azam Business Park.
The board of directors on the recommendations of the Procurement Committee approved Rs2.9 million for third party validation of Quaid e Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur and Rs11.8 million for CCTV surveillance system operations and maintenance. It also approved Rs35.7 million for access road from National Highway to Bahawalpur Industrial Estate,

Over the years, some industrialists from Karachi have either shifted or expanded in Punjab due to rapid industrialisation, cheaper land price and better infrastructure. Along with Punjab, industrial estates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are coming up as alternative sites as the law and order situation improved considerably in recent years.

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal welcomed the new investment plans of a Chinese company in the tile industry and reiterated that the promotion of investment is the top priority of the government.
The minister in a meeting with a representative of the Chinese company Oreal Ceramics Wo Jianbin who called on him at the PBIT office on Tuesday and discussed matters relating to investment promotion in the province.
The Chinese company has shown interest in investing in the tile industry in Bhalwal Industrial Estate and production capacity can be increased if the additional supply of electricity and gas is provided. The company also demanded to provide 50-acre land for setting up a new industrial unit.

Lahore, Jan. 6 (Gwadar Pro) - Chinese Company Oreal Ceramics has shown interest in investing in the tiles industry in Bhalwal Industrial Estate and has sought 50-acre land to set up a new industrial unit, said an official statement issued here on Tuesday evening.
The investment can increase the production capacity if additional supply of electricity and gas is provided, said the statement.
Representative of Chinese Company Oreal Ceramics Wo Jianbin called on Punjab Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal and discussed matters relating to investment. Director Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) Suhail Saleem was also present.
