McDonald s will close hundreds of fast-food restaurants located inside Walmart by this summer, the Wall Street Journal reports. After another wave of planned closures about 150 McDonald s will remain open at Walmart stores across the country.
Around 1,000 were open during the 30-year partnership between the largest restaurant chain and the largest retailer in the world.
A list of what McDonald s will soon close hasn t been released but officials say the closures will impact low-volume Walmarts. There are McDonald s located inside Walmart in Newburgh, Monticello and Mohegan Lake, according to McDonald s website.
In July 2020, McDonald s announced plans to accelerate planned closures and shutdown 200 locations. The burger chain said they were shutting down lower-volume restaurants, with more than half of the 200 closures coming from McDonald s located inside Walmart.

On Wednesday, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks in conjunction with the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office arrested 71-year-old Joan M. Darcy of Wappinger for second-degree manslaughter, a class C felony.
On November 5, 2020, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks responded to a residence on Scarborough Lane in the town of Wappinger for a deceased woman. The investigation revealed the victim, identified as 72-year-old Carol A. Darcy died of blunt force injuries, police say.
While Joan and Carol share the same last name police did not say if they are related. Police also didn t release details on how their investigation led to Joan Darcy s manslaughter charge or what happened prior to Carol Darcy dying from blunt force injuries.

On Tuesday, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce joined brothers Jordan and Tyler Sloboda to celebrate the opening of their newest location of JavaJo’s Coffee Bar within The Galleria at Crystal Run. The locally-owned coffee house is now located on the lower level, near Urban Air Adventure Park.
“We’re excited to bring our customers this exciting new coffee shop, and to also welcome another small business to our center,” Galleria at Crystal Run General Manager Eric Price said. “Our visitors will definitely enjoy Javajo’s freshly brewed coffee and baked goods. We know they will be a great addition to our Crystal Run family.”
