AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - FirstBank Southwest has been donating to area schools through a School Spirit Card Program since 2019.
In 2020, the program worked with 11 different schools in Texas Panhandle to create, market and distributed a customized Debit Card with the school logo/mascot.
These customized debit cards allow users to show off their school pride and give back to their school district.
FirstBank Southwest donates a portion of each debit card transaction processed to each school district participating in the program.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Applications are available starting today, to be on the ballot for the May election in Amarillo.
There are four spots open for school board positions at Amarillo College, Amarillo Independent School District and Canyon Independent School District.
All City Council seats are up for re-election and the Mayoral position.

Representatives from Randall High School’s Key Club and Xcel Energy recently came together to provide food for their neighbors in Canyon. Masked members of both organizations stood in a sort of assembly line, picking up donated food items from boxes to fill their individual Hope-Tote bags.
Through their combined efforts, as well as efforts from other volunteers throughout the day, more than 1,200 bags will be distributed Friday to children in need within the Canyon Independent School District.
The overall goal is to not just feed these students, who may not have access to food over the weekend.
It is to give them hope.
